This position has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The incumbent accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge skills, and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by health care providers to whom care is delegated to achieve quality patient care outcomes.
Performs the duties and responsibilities within the scope of a Registered Nurse (RN) – Level I, II, & III, as defined within the job description. The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills at the proficient level necessary to provide care that is relevant to the patient(s) under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span.
The incumbent also must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age‑specific needs. This role provides professional nursing care for patients in an inpatient hospital setting.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- 1. Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi‑state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- 2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
- 1. Three (3) years of registered nurse experience if degree is BSN OR Five (5) years of registered nurse experience if ADN/Diploma.
- 1. Specialty Certification in applicable discipline from approved CAPE certification listing.
- 1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- 9. Partners with other members of health system to assist with system quality improvements.
- 10. Utilizes data and information in system‑level decision‑making.
- 11. Assists with organizational policy within practice setting.

- 13. Demonstrates leadership skills that emphasize ethical and critical decision‑making, effective working relationships, and a systems perspective.
- 14. Formulates culturally sensitive expected outcomes derived from assessments and diagnoses.

- 16. Evaluates tools, instruments, and services provided to culturally diverse populations.
