Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience and a WV or compact RN license.

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, heparin protocols, and telemetry medications

• Full telemetry floor with centralized monitoring supported by a monitor tech
• 16 monitored pulmonary/cardiac beds serving medicine, cardiac, and med/surg adult and geriatric patients
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12, 7p-7a, weekdays with every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required as needed
• Orientation held every other Thursday
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
• Short term acute care facility with 838 total staffed beds
• Scrub color requirement:
  Royal Blue/White for RNs
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented; not required outside that window
• COVID vaccine not required
• Free parking provided for travelers
• Former CAMC permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those 75-100 miles away may be considered case-by-case at the same pay rate
• First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
• RTO must be discussed with the manager during interview; limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
