Title: Petroleum Compliance Technician – All Positions

Positions Available: Apprentice, Tech I, Tech II, Tech III, Tech IV, and Tech V.

Job Summary: Perform duties pertaining to fuel systems integrity testing, fuel systems compliance testing, UST & AST inspections, UST & AST installation and removals, UST & AST repairs, Non-destructive testing, fuel sampling, fuel filtrations, and troubleshooting.

What You’ll Do:

40%:
Compliance Testing (UST & AST):
  • Fill out all paperwork with speed & accuracy while providing unbiased, fact-based results and correction advice on-stie to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Perform a variety of fuel containment tests, equipment integrity tests, and leak-detection tests in order to detect leaks or to prevent future leaks due to non-compliance or equipment failure.
  • Uphold industry codes and TIS’s standards of professionalism, integrity, and quality.
  • Candidate must be knowledgeable with applicable industry standards specifications and procedures.
  • Record test data, applying statistical methods as appropriate.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Interface directly with clients and engineers to explain findings and ensure all mission critical objectives have been met.
  • Uphold industry codes and TIS’s standards of professionalism, integrity, and quality.
  • Supervise and mentor junior technicians or assistants in advanced inspection setups and fieldwork.
40%:
Compliance Inspection (UST, AST, NDT):
  • Perform visual inspections of UST and/or AST system in accordance with industry standards, state & federal regulations, and company standards.
  • Accurately capture and report inspection results digitally or on a specific form.
  • Increase industry knowledge and obtain manufacturers certifications focused on testing.
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze complex inspection data and provide accurate, detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Evaluate data and complete reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Supervise and mentor junior technicians or assistants in advanced inspection setups and fieldwork.
  • Interface with client representatives, engineers, and maintenance personnel to ensure inspection scope, timelines, and deliverables are met.
  • Utilize digital tools and data management systems to track asset health and inspection histories.
  • Identify mechanical and structural deficiencies and provide repair recommendations or fitness-for-service evaluations when applicable.
  • Perform UST and AST inspections as well as troubleshooting.
  • Perform internal, external, and on-stream inspections in accordance with applicable codes (API,ASME, NBIC, etc.) and client inspection programs.
  • Prepare and review isometric drawings, repair plans, inspection reports, and data sheets.
  • Recommend and track inspection intervals, corrosion monitoring points, and follow-up actions based on condition assessments.
  • Contribute to project planning, scan plans, procedure development, and technique qualification reviews as needed/required.
  • Take photographs using equipment/components being inspected using company camera.
  • Perform advanced NDE techniques in accordance with TIS procedures, client specifications, and industry codes (ASME, API, AWS, etc.).
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams and confers with management to employ appropriate quality codes and standards.
  • Operate and configure advanced equipment and scanning systems.
5%:
Safety:
  • Understand, comply and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • TIS employees will follow company, site and customer policies and procedures.
  • Without supervision, will inspect, maintain and don personal protective equipment.
  • Ensures peers and subcontractors are protected and has the responsibility and authority to stop work deemed unsafe.
