The Lab Technician is responsible for conducting the blending and analysis of pure and mixed gases to determine compliance with Airgas and customer specifications. Duties include preparing blends according to standard operating procedures, extracting and measuring gas samples, performing analytical tests, documenting results, and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment. The technician must prioritize tasks, adhere to safety regulations, and contribute to a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities- Blend gases to standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, FDA, ISO, EPA, and CGA regulations.
- Extract and measure gas samples, perform analyses, and compare results with calculated gravimetric values.
- Document all gas analysis accurately per SOPs and safety regulations.
- Perform calculations for premixes to achieve necessary tolerances.
- Maintain lab instruments and equipment, ensuring proper housekeeping.
- Prioritize and organize work plan to optimize testing efficiency.
- Contribute to overall good housekeeping in the lab area.
- Computer experience with Google applications and related products.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must routinely lift 25–50 lbs and perform frequent bending; prolonged standing or sitting is required.
- Availability for occasional overtime when necessary.
- Experience in a drug‑free workplace required.
- For internal candidates: no written disciplinary actions within the previous 90 days.
- High School diploma or GED.
- BS Degree in Chemistry or a related science field.
