Process Measurement, Data Acquisition and Automation Territory:
Southern WV, border counties in OH & KY The Opportunity
We are seeking a consultative, technically minded Sales Engineer to grow and support an established territory selling process measurement, data acquisition and automation solutions to chemical, metals, power generation, coal, natural gas and other manufacturing facilities.
This is a relationship-driven sales role focused on plant-level engagement with engineers, maintenance leaders and plant managers. The territory includes both existing and new accounts with significant growth opportunity.
If you are comfortable walking into a plant engineering office, maintenance shop, or production area discussing measurement and process control challenges with plant staff, and developing solutions, this role may be a strong fit.
What You’ll Be Responsible For- Manage and grow an established industrial territory (Southern WV, SE OH, SE KY)
- Develop new business within the manufacturing and energy industries
- Call on plant managers, engineers, maintenance leaders, and procurement teams
- Conduct plant visits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations
- Maintain CRM activity and forecast pipeline
- Travel approximately 40–60% within territory
- Revenue growth within existing accounts
- Development of new active accounts annually
- Strong multi-level relationships within key customer facilities
- Pipeline development supporting sustained territory growth
Required:
- 3+ years of industrial B2B sales experience
- Experience calling on heavy industrial or process manufacturing facilities
- Ability to understand and discuss technical products
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Willingness to travel throughout territory.
Preferred:
- Experience selling instrumentation, process equipment, or capital equipment
- Background in industry
- Technical aptitude (engineering background a plus)
- Base salary: $100,000–$125,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Uncapped commission plan
- Target total compensation: $180,000+
