We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.
We are looking for Equipment Operators who will play a key role in all aspects of construction services on infrastructure projects, performing skilled functions such as working in the construction and maintenance of highways, municipal waterline systems, etc.

Highlights- Performs advanced level, specialized skilled work in the construction and maintenance of highways, bridges, and related buildings and structures, the operation of under bridge inspection trucks, tractor trailer low drag to transport equipment, core drilling and Crew Chief.
- Position will be assigned in one of the following areas of assignment:
- Core Driller
- Equipment Operator
- Mechanic
- May be exposed to hazardous working conditions and inclement weather.
- Core Driller
- Assemble drill rig and related equipment on location.
- Position the drilling rig using a winch and steel cables.
- Operate the drilling rig.
- Identify and classify the rock and soil found in the drilling sample.
- Label core boxes for depth and location of the sample.
- Repair drilling rig and related equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Equipment Operator
- Perform pre-operational checks of equipment.
- Operate a tractor-trailer low drag to transport equipment.
- Manipulate levers and other controls that move articulating booms.
- Operate an under-bridge inspection truck.
- Lead or train lower-level transportation workers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Mechanic
- Serve as a working shop leader of lower-level mechanics at the Equipment Division or District HQ.
- Responsible for road testing or completing the final review of repairs made on equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, using diagnostic equipment.
- Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required.

Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of advanced-level methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel-powered equipment.
- Knowledge of the operation of trucks equipped to reach under bridges.
- Knowledge of the Division of Highways Equipment Management System.
- Knowledge of the standard safety procedures of the Division of Highways.
- Knowledge of the nomenclature, use, and maintenance of welding equipment and cutting equipment.
- Knowledge of acetylene, propane, and other gases, characteristic dangers, and uses with welding and cutting equipment.
- Knowledge of welding rod specifications as outlined by the American Welding Society (AWS).
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Knowledge of melting temperatures of various metals used in bridge maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of materials, design, and assembly procedures used in welding.
- Knowledge of the type of rock, aggregate, and soil found in core drilling.
- Knowledge of safety practices for core drilling work.
- Skilled in the manipulation of levers and other controls that move articulating booms.
- Skilled in the use of tools and equipment used in the repair of motor-driven equipment.
