As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll provide hands‑on technical support to healthcare facilities. This includes installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of specialized equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, calibration, and repair on laboratory instruments, medical diagnostic equipment, and kiosk systems.
- Conduct performance verification and equipment testing to ensure compliance and reliability.
- Document service activities and manage work orders using EMSAR’s Service Max system.
- Communicate with dispatch teams and customers to coordinate service calls.
- Represent EMSAR professionally while working at customer facilities.
This position could require regional day trips and occasional overnight stays. All travel is company paid. The role is 25% documentation and service reporting, with the majority focused on hands‑on technical work in the field.
QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For
We’re looking for technicians who enjoy solving technical problems, working independently, and supporting customers in the field.
Specific Qualifications- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organization and time‑management abilities.
- The ability to work independently while following established procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2–4 years of technical or field service experience.
- Associate degree or trade/technical school certification.
- 1+ year of technical experience (including internship or apprenticeship).
- Valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.
- Ability to operate personal, fleet, or rental vehicles.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and equipment handling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move equipment up to 125 lbs.
- Regular use of hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Time spent both on‑site at customer facilities and documenting service work electronically.
