Transportation Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker - Kanawha

The Transportation Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker 1 will report to the Office Services Division in Kanawha County. This position performs a variety of skilled and semiskilled work under limited direction in the building trades in connection with the maintenance and repair of Highways’ facilities, buildings and grounds. Work assignments usually require skill in and knowledge of maintenance and repair methods and practices in several building maintenance trades.

May also required, with proper training to work in asbestos or other environmental issues. Performs related work as required.

No formal education required.

• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in building maintenance, building construction, the installation and maintenance of building electrical or heating systems, or related highway experience.
• Substitution:
  Successful completion of vocational school training may substitute for the required experience through an established formula.
