Job Description Goodwill Industries of the Summit is currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) to join our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program. As a PRSS, you will use your lived experience with recovery to inspire and support program participants on their journey toward healing and stability. Working alongside the SUD Case Manager, you will provide hands-on assistance and transportation to participants, ensuring they have access to the resources and services they need.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Build trusting relationships with SUD program participants by sharing lived recovery experiences.
Provide encouragement, mentorship, and support to participants in achieving their recovery goals.
Assist with transporting participants to appointments, meetings, and community resources as needed in the SUD program van, an 18-foot transit van that accommodates up to 12 passengers.
Work collaboratively with the SUD Case Manager to support individualized recovery plans and ensure participants stay on track.
Facilitate group meetings and activities to foster peer support and recovery-oriented discussions.
Maintain accurate documentation of participant interactions and activities.
Stay informed about local resources, services, and programs available to individuals in recovery.
Serve as a role model, demonstrating healthy coping mechanisms and commitment to recovery.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, or willingness to obtain certification withing six (6) months of hire.
Valid driver’s license with safe driving record required.
Must be comfortable with driving an 18-foot, 12-passenger van in order to transport program participants to and from appointments and meetings.
Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening required.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Additional Information Beginning rate of pay is $16 per hour.
