Specialized services cover liquefied high-pressure gases, cementitious and fluidized products, chemicals, hazardous waste fuels, sodium cyanide transport, and rail car transloading at transload sites. Team members contribute to enhancing customers’ product delivery, sales, growth, and cost containment through reliable, quality-focused operations.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Truck Driver role based in Charleston, WV. The Truck Driver safely operates company trucks to transport bulk and specialized materials to and from customer locations, following assigned routes and delivery schedules. Daily responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads, and handling unloading procedures in alignment with company and customer requirements. The role requires strict adherence to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and hazardous materials protocols where applicable.

The Truck Driver also maintains accurate logs and documentation, communicates with dispatch and terminal staff, and represents Trans Wood professionally in all customer interactions.

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A license with a safe driving record and experience in Truck Driving.
  • Ability to operate and maneuver Truck equipment safely, including performing basic vehicle checks and maintenance reporting.
  • Knowledge of DOT Regulations and compliance requirements for hours of service, inspections, and documentation.
  • Experience with Unloading procedures for bulk, liquid, or specialized materials, following safety and customer guidelines.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including climbing, lifting, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Strong focus on safety, reliability, and time management, with effective communication skills with dispatch and customers.
  • Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) endorsement and prior experience with hazardous or bulk commodities are beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; willingness to participate in ongoing training and certifications.
