The person in this position will be responsible for implementing ATI quality policies and procedures in the manufacturing part fabrication and assembly environment. Activities include monitoring various elements of operations quality, problem solving to correct issues, and reporting results. The role requires a high level of independent judgment, creativity, initiative, and determination, and involves leading focused teams and driving corrective and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, analyze, document, and develop corrective action strategies for internal and external quality related issues.
- Organize, coordinate, and interface with OEMs regarding parts and transmission concerns.
- Coordinate continuous improvement activities and corrective action activities to closure.
- Provide professional reports on quality investigations, findings, and results.
- Develop and/or complete plant reliability tests to analyze and solve problems.
- Analyze product and process design to prevent and correct problems.
- Develop, conduct, and complete required reliability, process and product audits.
- Participate in TS16949 audits.
- Communicate and coordinate activities with cross-functional organizations.
- Implement and actively support plant and corporate safety policies and initiatives.

Required competencies include adhering to the highest standards, driving a positive customer experience, improving the way the world works through innovation and teamwork, and exhibiting strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Knowledge of ISO 9000 and TS 16949 requirements, effective computer software use, and travel to visit customers and other plants are also required.
Preferred Skills- Knowledge of ATI Quality and Reliability policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of automatic transmission.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and dimensional layout, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with SPC, PFMEA, Process Control Plans, 8D Corrective Action Strategy and Layered Process Audits.
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Gear Analyzer familiarity.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another engineering discipline.
- 3+ years' experience in a Quality Engineer role or closely related field.
- Experience applying quality engineering principles in manufacturing/assembly contexts.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
