Senior Associate
We are looking for a Senior Associate with 10+ years of experience in existing building envelope design/field work. The work will include field investigations, envelopes assessment (walls, roofs, and below-grade waterproofing), analysis and design, interaction with clients, and other design and construction professionals. The successful candidate will support the Boston Office Principals and work on a variety of challenging projects including new buildings, historical restoration, and renovation of existing buildings.
Responsibilities include completing feasibility studies, organizing multiple design projects, verifying and supporting construction, acting as a primary technical point of contact with clients, directing contractors and testing companies, determining appropriate solutions within budgetary constraints, developing comprehensive plans, overseeing bidding process, construction administration, supporting proposal efforts, supporting project controller with billing review, effectively communicating with Principals-in-Charge, assessing and pursuing opportunities for maximization of client billing, and performing additional assignments as directed by your manager.
Qualifications- Minimum BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering and MA professional registration required.
- Minimum Ten (10) years of experience in the industry
- Licensed PE or RA preferred
- Experience with Massachusetts Public Procurement Regulations
- Experienced with AutoCAD or Revit and computer aided design and project management platforms.
- Strong Oral and written communication skills required.
- Knowledge of standard contract terms, including hourly, lump sum, and not-to-exceed and how they are applied in the billing process
- Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion
- Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report issues to management when necessary
- Strong service orientation
- Knowledge of the project structure in a client/consultant business environment
