Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting and financial reporting functions. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, managing the month-end and year-end close processes, and delivering accurate financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong accounting knowledge, a process-improvement mindset, and the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

+ Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets

+ Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes

+ Prepare and review financial statements and management reports

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies

+ Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities

+ Develop and maintain financial controls and accounting procedures

+ Coordinate audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors

+ Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve performance and profitability

+ Support strategic planning and decision-making with accurate financial data and insights

+ Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

+ CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibilities

+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements

+

Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls

+ Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

+ Excellent communication and leadership skills

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
