JOB GOAL

Under the general supervision of the High School Principal, this position provides mentoring, guidance, and career counseling for high school students. Additionally, this position will play a key role in facilitating restorative practices within the building.

QUALIFICATIONS

An individual shall possess, upon application, the following minimal experience or its satisfactory equivalent:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, with Valid Guidance and Counseling Endorsement (NT).
  • Experience in standardized testing.
  • Working knowledge of master scheduling, preferred.
  • Experience in High School Counseling, preferred.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Provide personal student guidance counseling
  • Conduct group and individual meetings to assist students
  • Coordinate and facilitate parent, student, and staff meetings
  • Coordinate standardized testing
  • Work with students and staff to develop educational plans
  • Assist in the creation of class master scheduling
  • Communicate with parents and community members
  • Uphold confidentiality in all situations
  • Work with Restorative Justice counterpart to facilitate restorative circles
  • Assist in facilitating the Restorative Justice program, and continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned
