Electrical Designer

This Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for generating, designing, and revising 2D electrical detail/schematic drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and production assembly drawings (PADs). The primary focus will be on designing wiring schematics and harness drawings using AutoCAD, and electrical components on Solid Works. This role requires a strong experience in electrical design with high proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Works.

In addition to design work, the engineer will collaborate with the shop floor to verify fit and function, ensuring that designs are accurately translated into physical components. The accuracy and timeliness of designs are critical for project success.

• Generate, design, and revise 2D electrical detail/schematic drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and production assembly drawings (PADs).
• Design wiring schematics and harness drawings using AutoCAD.
• Design electrical components using Solid Works.
• Collaborate with the shop floor to verify fit and function of designs.
• Ensure designs are accurately translated into physical components.

• 5+ years of experience in circuit design, load calculations, and power distribution.
• 5+ years of experience in 2D AutoCAD designing electrical harnesses.
• 5+ years of experience in designing electrical components in Solid Works.
• Experience working with industry standards ANSI/ASME, GD&T, SAE, FMVSS.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

• Certified Solid Works User (CSWP).

The role is based in the engineering building, working alongside other engineers. The primary work will be at a cubicle with some interaction on the shop floor to ensure accuracy and troubleshoot issues. The project involves collaboration with a team of 10 engineers, including Design Engineers and Electrical Engineers, and offers mentorship opportunities. Work hours are typically Monday to Friday, from 7 or 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with a potential option to work four 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday (6 am to 4 pm) after the first day.

The company observes six holidays, but there is no PTO.

Contract position based out of Charlotte, MI.

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $46.00/hr.
