The OpportunityWe are collaborating with multiple companies in Charlotte seeking experienced Automation Engineers. Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
- Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- Integrate robotic systems, vision systems, and other advanced automation technologies.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automation systems and equipment to minimize downtime.
- Optimize existing automation systems for improved efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics, software code, and user manuals.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and resolve issues.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA development.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
- Experience with industrial robotics, vision systems, or motion control applications.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems and resolve technical issues.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and relevant safety standards (e.g., OSHA, CE).
- Experience in the full project lifecycle, from design and commissioning to optimization and support.
- Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB, Universal Robots).
- Proficiency in machine vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for inspection and guidance.
- Familiarity with data historians, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), or OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) platforms.
- Knowledge of industrial control system (ICS) cybersecurity best practices.
