Key Responsibilities- Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs using specified software.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T specifications.
- Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) and in-process dimensional validations.
- Analyze measurement data, identify non-conformances, and generate detailed inspection reports.
- Troubleshoot CMM program errors and optimize measurement processes for accuracy and efficiency.
- Select and configure appropriate CMM probes, styli, and fixturing for various part geometries.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve measurement challenges and improve product quality.
- Proficiency with CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Solid understanding of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and inspection processes.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting CMM equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to analyze measurement data, identify non-conformances, and recommend solutions.
- Proficiency with advanced CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA) for model manipulation or fixture design.
- Experience with other metrology equipment such as laser scanners, vision systems, or optical comparators.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis techniques.
- Ability to design and/or fabricate custom inspection fixtures.
