Tooling Engineer | Charlotte, MI
Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Designs and develops new tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
- Optimizes existing tooling for improved efficiency, cost, and quality.
- Conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective actions for tooling-related issues.
- Collaborates with production, design, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications.
- Manages tooling procurement, maintenance, and inventory.
- Utilizes CAD/CAM software for tooling design and simulation.
- Develops and maintains tooling documentation and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tooling design and analysis.
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes, materials, and their impact on tooling performance.
- Experience with mold design, progressive dies, and fixture design.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for mold design and manufacturing (e.g., Solid Works, Catia, Mastercam).
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond injection molding, such as stamping, casting, or machining.
- Knowledge of metrology and inspection techniques for tooling validation (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
- Certification in relevant areas like GD&T, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, C#) for automation or data analysis related to tooling.
