Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Charlotte that are seeking skilled Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits to identify hazards and assess risks.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide EHS training to employees on topics such as hazard communication, emergency response, and safe work practices.
• Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, labeling, and disposal.
• Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate safety into new equipment and process designs.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
• 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Proven ability to conduct EHS training, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Experience with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 implementation and auditing
• Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish
• Experience with hazardous waste management and permitting (e.g., RCRA)
• Familiarity with industrial hygiene principles and monitoring equipment
