- Inspect the cab/body, parts, and/or other products for defects
- Remove dirt and/or runs using supplied tools
- Sand and buff the cab/body, parts, and/or other products using supplied tools to ensure compliance with Spartan's Paint Appearance Requirement
- Detail cab/body prior to it leaving work center
- Work in a team environment
- Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete duties in assigned area
- Read and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etcetera, as required by a particular area
- Understand, and be able to articulate, the production flow of an assigned product line or area
- Self-check work and inspect prior processes
- Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required
- Meet production goals
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Initiate process improvements
- Support 5S in work area
- Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues
- Work in close proximity with customer, as needed
- Solve complex problems with minimal assistance
Excellent attendance, positive attitude, strong and consistent attention to detail, self-motivated with the ability to stay on task, team oriented, basic computer skills are required, no critical shortcomings on last performance review, body and paint experience preferred. Able to:
Operate a DA sander and an air polisher for extended amounts of time, tolerate very high heat temperatures and dusty conditions, work overtime on short notice, be willing to wear PPE respirators for extended amount of time, improve self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed), develop a working knowledge of Spartan's systems (example: AS/400).
