The electrical trouble shooter can identify and find solutions to system malfunctions. They work in all areas of the facility. Install, wire, troubleshoot, and repair all electrical components. Will be instrumental in training all new electricians in all pay grades. Assemble a variety of different electrical components. Able to communicate and work with other departments such as engineering.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Automotive electrical installation and/or troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to read and understand complex schematics and electrical layouts.
- Understand relationship between voltage, current, and resistance.
- Fundamental use of various pneumatic, power, hand, and air tools.
- Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled.
- Assemble harnesses, cables, switch panels, circuit boards, and a variety of electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and repair both 12 V DC and 110V AC circuitry.
- Troubleshoot and repair all systems, both internal and external.
- Report repetitive quality issues.
- Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices including, but not limited to volt meters and test lights
- Meet all QA and QC standards for each assembly task.
- Ensure parts are assembled per instructions for proper appearance and function.
- Assist in training electricians of all skill levels.
- Ensure that hazardous waste is placed into the proper container(s).
- Familiar with Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan, spill response procedures, and evacuation routes.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate instructions, correspondence, feedback and memos.
- Maintain safety and 5S standards.
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to other employees of the organization and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Ability to use basic mathematics.
- Must have general knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
- Function with a minimal amount of supervision or no supervision.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
- 5 to 10 years of electrical installation experience.
- Have worked or received training on all electrical stations, including the harness department.
- 12 months of proven ability of identifying issues and providing solutions.
- Capable of programming lights.
- Able to train electrical installers.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Other physical requirements include:
