Vice President - Accounting

Our client is seeking a strategic and hands‑on Vice President of Accounting to lead the accounting organization. This role will oversee full‑cycle accounting operations, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls in a complex, regulated environment.

The ideal candidate is a CPA with strong technical accounting expertise, extensive ERP experience, and a proven track record of leading high‑performing teams in operationally intensive industries.

• Lead all aspects of full‑cycle accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll oversight
• Oversee and drive the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements within the utilities sector
• Partner cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, and other teams to provide financial insights and decision support
• Optimize and enhance ERP systems, reporting processes, and accounting workflows for scalability and efficiency
• Lead budgeting support and collaborate with FP&A on forecasting and financial analysis initiatives
• Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing accounting team

• CPA required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a complex, multi‑entity environment
• Extensive experience with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar enterprise platforms)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience managing external audits
• Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement scalable systems
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
