Senior Accounting Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Manager with a specialization in trust and estate accounting. This is a hands-on role that requires a deep understanding of trust and estate taxation, compliance, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical expertise, a CPA certification, and a passion for working with high-net-worth clients and complex financial structures.
Key Responsibilities- Trust and Estate Accounting:
Oversee and manage the accounting and financial reporting for trusts and estates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. - Tax Compliance:
Work closely with the tax team to ensure timely and accurate preparation of trust, estate, and gift tax returns (Forms 1041, 706, and 709). - Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Prepare and review financial statements for trusts and estates, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders, including trustees and beneficiaries. - Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow for trusts and estates, including distributions, funding, and investment oversight. - Audit and Reconciliation:
Lead reconciliation efforts for trust accounts and ensure proper documentation for audits and reviews. - Client Interaction:
Serve as a primary point of contact for trustees, beneficiaries, and other advisors, providing expert guidance on financial matters. - Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy in trust and estate accounting functions. - Team Support:
Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering their growth and development.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters preferred). Certification: CPA license is required.
Experience:
7+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on trust and estate accounting. Background in public accounting, private wealth management, or a family office is highly desirable. Technical Expertise:
Proficient in accounting software and tax preparation tools (e.g., Quick Books, Pro System fx, or similar). In-depth knowledge of trust and estate tax laws, regulations, and financial management best practices.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a client-focused mindset. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
