Position Title:
CONTROLLER, ASSISTANT REGIONAL
Pay Grade: 16
Job SummaryAs a Controller, Assistant Regional, you will assist with the monthly fiscal close, forecast, and budgeting, and prepare financial statements for assigned regions or subsidiaries. The role requires strong relationship building across teams and management levels.
Key Responsibilities- Lead oversight of monthly P&L and balance sheet activity, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
- Direct review of general ledger and balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving reconciliation issues in a timely manner.
- Oversee reconciliation and analysis of key ledger accounts, including accounts receivable, cashless transactions, inventory, and commissions.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies, proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
- Drive preparation of financial reporting, including flash reports, forecasts, and budgets.
- Assist in assessment of new business and retention proposals, reviewing and enforcing contractual obligations.
- Support and lead special projects, including strategic initiatives supporting branch operations and regional, divisional, and sector priorities.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 5–6 direct reports, fostering a high-performance and accountable culture.
- Partner closely with the RVP and operations leadership to support financial performance and operational decision‑making.
- Champion training, development, and continuous improvement of accounting staff across assigned branches.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of five years of accounting/finance experience in the retail industry.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high‑performing teams.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and drive results.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced, dynamic work environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with operations and senior leadership.
- Proficient knowledge of Excel, Access, and SAP.
- Travel up to 20%.
