Controller/Staff Accountant
We are a growing hotel management company overseeing a diverse portfolio of branded properties across multiple markets. Our team is focused on operational excellence, financial discipline, and delivering strong returns for our ownership partners. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Controller/Staff Accountant with hospitality accounting experience.
Position Summary
The controller will be responsible for the accounting operations for a multi-property hotel portfolio. This role requires hands-on experience with hospitality accounting systems such as M3 or Inn-Flow and a strong understanding of hotel financial reporting, month-end close processes, and brand/ownership reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions for multiple hotel properties
- Perform full-cycle month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Prepare and review property-level financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, OTA receivables, and brand billings
- Monitor revenue postings and interface integrity between PMS and accounting software
- Assist General Managers with budget variance analysis and financial reporting
- Support annual budgets and forecasts
- Process accounts payable and review coding accuracy by department
- Ensure compliance with brand standards and ownership reporting requirements
- Assist with audits, lender reporting, and tax documentation
- Maintain organized financial records across portfolio entities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality
Direct experience with M3 or Inn Flow required
Experience with multi-entity or multi-property accounting strongly preferred
Strong understanding of hotel revenue streams (Rooms, F&B, Other Income)
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial analysis)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines across properties
Self-starter with strong communication skills
Preferred Experience
Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, or other branded hotel reporting familiarity
Sales & Use Tax and occupancy tax filings
Cash management across multiple bank accounts
Inter-company accounting
