Senior Accountant | Charlotte, NC
Senior Accountant responsible for the accounting and financial analysis for brewery operations for specific brands within the ABV family. Under the direction of the Assistant Controller, this individual manages the financial closing process and day‑to‑day accounting for the company.
What You’ll Do- Prepare and post journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations as part of the month‑end close process.
- Assist in accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closes.
- Perform detailed account analysis and general ledger account roll‑forwards.
- Prepare management reports and provide variance analysis of results on a monthly basis.
- Review general ledger areas for accuracy of reporting and GAAP/regulatory compliance.
- Support operations in analysis and reporting of financial information.
- Investigate and work with taproom management to resolve accounting and inventory discrepancies and irregularities.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate federal and state beer excise and sales tax returns.
- Reconcile bank accounts on a daily transactional basis.
- Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including posting invoices, making vendor payments, applying customer payments, and preparing deposits.
- Ensure organizational compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Dedicate to continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process.
- Perform other general accounting and month‑end close duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- 3–5 years of industry accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- PC skills including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced Excel modeling.
- Proficiency with automated general ledger systems and reporting tools (SAP, Orchestrated BEER) is a plus.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, and inventory control principles, including GAAP.
- Knowledge of federal and state beverage industry regulations and reporting requirements is a plus.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet required deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both internal and external, across all levels.
- Team‑oriented.
