Part‑Time, In‑Person | Monday‑Friday, AM shift (approx. 25 hours/week) | $18.50/hr

Summary

Responsible for computing, classifying, recording, and verifying numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records.

Responsibilities
  • Compiles and sorts documents such as invoices and checks that substantiate business transactions.
  • Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and posts totals to ledgers, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approves for payment.
  • Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills.
  • Computes and records charges, refunds, costs of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.
  • Prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews them for accuracy.
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers and bank statements.
  • Extracts general ledger information and compiles cost reports, revenue, and balance sheets.
  • Monitors loans and accounts payable and receivable to ensure payments are current.
  • Reconciles report discrepancies and problems.
  • Codes data for input to the financial data processing system according to company procedures.
  • Reviews, balances, and interprets computer reports and makes corrections.
  • Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.
  • Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  • Participates in required training.
  • Records all hours worked accurately in the company time‑keeping system.
  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations; demonstrates the company’s core values.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures and observes all federal, state, local, and company safety rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    GED or High School Diploma; fields of study may include Automotive, Business, or Information Technology.
  • Entry‑level; no prior work experience required.
  • Certifications and licenses:
    Valid Driver’s License and Automobile Salesperson License.
  • Computer skills:
    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products; ability to learn dealership management, spreadsheet, accounting, and parts inventory software.
  • Communication skills:
    Ability to understand and follow instructions; communicate effectively with company personnel.
  • Attendance:
    Regular and predictable attendance; scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Physical demands:
    Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Environmental demands:
    Primarily desk work in an office setting and occasional warehouse duties.
  • Verbal and writing ability:
    Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Math ability:
    Add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Reasoning ability:
    Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
