Part‑Time, In‑Person | Monday‑Friday, AM shift (approx. 25 hours/week) | $18.50/hr
SummaryResponsible for computing, classifying, recording, and verifying numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records.
Responsibilities- Compiles and sorts documents such as invoices and checks that substantiate business transactions.
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and posts totals to ledgers, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approves for payment.
- Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills.
- Computes and records charges, refunds, costs of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.
- Prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews them for accuracy.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers and bank statements.
- Extracts general ledger information and compiles cost reports, revenue, and balance sheets.
- Monitors loans and accounts payable and receivable to ensure payments are current.
- Reconciles report discrepancies and problems.
- Codes data for input to the financial data processing system according to company procedures.
- Reviews, balances, and interprets computer reports and makes corrections.
- Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.
- Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Participates in required training.
- Records all hours worked accurately in the company time‑keeping system.
- Follows Safeguards rules and regulations; demonstrates the company’s core values.
- Complies with company policies and procedures and observes all federal, state, local, and company safety rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education:
GED or High School Diploma; fields of study may include Automotive, Business, or Information Technology. - Entry‑level; no prior work experience required.
- Certifications and licenses:
Valid Driver’s License and Automobile Salesperson License. - Computer skills:
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products; ability to learn dealership management, spreadsheet, accounting, and parts inventory software. - Communication skills:
Ability to understand and follow instructions; communicate effectively with company personnel. - Attendance:
Regular and predictable attendance; scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and some holidays. - Physical demands:
Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. - Environmental demands:
Primarily desk work in an office setting and occasional warehouse duties. - Verbal and writing ability:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. - Math ability:
Add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. - Reasoning ability:
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
