Senior Project Accountant

Carolina PRG is partnering with a rapidly growing, multi-entity organization to identify a Senior Project Accountant. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment supporting complex accounting operations, partnering with leadership across multiple business units, and helping drive financial accuracy and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting activities, including maintaining and analyzing Work in Progress (WIP) schedules
• Support external audit requests by preparing schedules, documentation, and financial support
• Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insight, monitor project performance, and support business decisions
• Evaluate existing accounting processes and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls
• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations while ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including financial analysis and reporting
• Work cross-functionally to research and resolve accounting discrepancies related to vendors, invoices, and project costs
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability through cost analysis and operational efficiencies
• Participate in accounting system enhancements, process automation, and other strategic finance initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of project accounting principles and Work in Progress (WIP) reporting
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
