Senior Accountant (12-Month Contract)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a 12-month contract opportunity based in Charlotte, NC
. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting experience who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, supporting audits, improving accounting processes, and assisting with ERP initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned accounting functions while ensuring compliance with company policies, U.S. GAAP, and IFRS.
- Participate in the month-end close process, including journal entries, financial reporting, and consolidation reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
- Analyze profit and loss activity and prepare financial data for month-end review meetings.
- Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and required documentation.
- Provide financial data for tax filings, compliance reporting, insurance reporting, payroll-related reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and improve accounting processes, including bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, capital project tracking, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with ERP system implementation and process improvements.
- Collaborate with domestic and international accounting teams to reconcile intercompany activity.
- Participate in special projects and perform additional accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or private industry.
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, financial reporting, internal controls, and cost accounting
. - Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with JD Edwards ERP is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
