Tax Associate

LHH is seeking a Tax Associate to join one of their clients in Charlotte, NC. The firm offers a collaborative culture, professional development opportunities, and exposure to a variety of tax engagements.

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-Corporations, and C-Corporations
• Assist with tax planning projects and identify opportunities for tax savings and compliance improvements
• Conduct tax research and analyze complex tax issues
• Prepare supporting work papers and maintain accurate tax documentation
• Respond to client inquiries and communicate tax-related matters in a professional manner
• Assist with tax notices, audits, and regulatory correspondence
• Reconcile tax-related accounts and financial information as needed
• Collaborate with senior tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate client deliverables
• Stay current on federal, state, and local tax regulations and developments

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required
• 1-3+ years of tax preparation experience, preferably within a CPA or public accounting firm; willing to consider candidates with 2 busy season internships
• Experience preparing individual and business tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120S, and 1120)
• Strong understanding of tax compliance and tax research
• Proficiency with tax software such as Ultra Tax, Thomson Reuters, CCH, or similar platforms preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
