Job Summary

We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our High Net Worth (Family Wealth Services) practice group. This candidate will oversee tax preparation and perform the technical review process, as well as consult on complex tax matters, for high‑net‑worth individuals, related family partnerships and trust tax returns. Other tasks include ensuring compliance with state and federal tax regulations, quarterly and year‑end consulting, research and engagement oversight.

The Tax Manager will delegate and manage tax assignments and perform administrative duties, as needed, and is responsible for supporting, supervising, motivating, and reviewing the work of the tax team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform tax, gift and estate planning and compliance services for individuals, family limited partnerships and related trusts.
  • Continuously expand individual, gift, trust and estate tax knowledge, as well as overall professional development.
  • Develop and sustain excellent customer relationships.
  • Consult on various tax matters proactively.
  • Communicate progress of engagements, problems, and resolutions to customers.
  • Monitor economic performance of engagements, including billing and collections.
  • Develop and grow a business network with colleagues, referral relationships, potential customers, and external organizations to attract new business.
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate team members.
  • Create a highly collaborative environment in which team members reach out for input and ideas.
  • Promote a culture of engagement, inclusion, and accountability for the organization’s core values and competencies for the teams that you lead.
  • Set and achieve stretch goals on a periodic basis that increase your value and contribution to the organization.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the practice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Law;
    Master’s degree in Tax/LLM in Tax preferred.
  • 5+ years of recent public accounting firm experience working with individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates, including managing multiple projects and customer engagements.
  • EA License or CPA certification required.
  • Project/team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and networking acumen.
  • Ability to manage and grow strong customer relationships.
  • Experience with tax software and technology.
  • Ability to multitask and a demonstration of commitment to continuous learning.
