Job Summary:
As an accounting manager within our client accounting advisory services (CAAS) team, you will play a critical leadership role specializing in supporting real estate owners, investors, developers, and property management companies. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients in a collaborative, office-based environment, helping to strengthen relationships and expand our growing real estate niche. You will oversee full-cycle accounting operations, serve as the primary point of contact for business owners and stakeholders, and guide a team of junior accountants through training, development, and performance excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee full-cycle accounting for real estate clients, including property-level accounting, general ledger maintenance, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, investors, developers, and property management teams, delivering exceptional client service and strategic guidance.
- Manage accounting for real estate portfolios, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, tenant activity, and capital improvement expenditures.
- Review bank reconciliations, escrow accounts, management fee calculations, sales tax filings, and other real estate-related accounting activities.
- Manage and train junior accountants to foster a high-performance team environment, including provide feedback for growth and development.
- Review monthly financial statements for business owners and stakeholders.
- Formulate customized solutions for clients based on client data and goals.
- Stay informed on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and compliance requirements to proactively advise clients.
- Optimize workflow processes by following best practices to maximize efficiency and reduce errors
- Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality financial information while consistently exceeding client expectations and fostering long-term client relationships.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA license preferred
- 6+ years of experience in public accounting, consulting, or outsourced accounting environments
- Real estate-industry experience required
- Proficiency with Yardi required
- Experience with accounting software preferred (e.g. Quick Books Online, Sage Intacct, Foundations, Xero, Netsuite)
- Ability to design and implement efficient, scalable accounting processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
