Position Summary
We are partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant tomanage daily accounting functions and help maintain the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records. The Accountant will oversee full-cycle accounting activities, support financial reporting efforts, act as the primary contact for external auditors, and provide leadership to one other individual.

- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare and record journal entries while ensuring accurate financial documentation.
- Coordinate and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Manage billing, invoicing, and collections activities.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll reporting requirements.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and provide reporting support to leadership.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, facilitating audit requests and annual audit activities.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and nonprofit reporting standards.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting procedures and workflows.
- Provide supervision, training, and support to the Accounting Assistant.
- Assist with additional accounting and finance projects as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline required.
- 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with Quick Books and proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
