A well-established and growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Fixed Asset Accountant to join its accounting team. This role is responsible for managing the fixed asset lifecycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end close activities, and maintaining compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have strong fixed asset accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records and subledgers.
  • Record asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and retirements.
  • Calculate and monitor depreciation and amortization schedules.
  • Prepare monthly fixed asset reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Support capital expenditure tracking and reporting.
  • Review capital projects and determine proper capitalization treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
  • Analyze fixed asset activity and investigate variances.
  • Partner with accounting, finance, operations, and other teams regarding asset-related transactions.
  • Assist with process improvements and system enhancements related to fixed assets.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, including fixed asset accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.
  • Experience with depreciation methodologies and asset management processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems. Similar platforms like SAP, Oracle, Workday, JDE or SAGE preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • CPA or CPA-track preferred.
  • Background in manufacturing, healthcare, construction, utilities, or corporate accounting environments.
  • Experience with capital project accounting.
