ABOUTTHIS ROLE
Sharpe Patel PLLC is looking for a bright and eager candidate seeking a full-time position in auditing in our Charlotte office. This position would work directly with our audit department. The audit team serves a variety of clients including nonprofits, governments, affordable housing, community college foundations, captive insurance, employee benefit plans, charter schools, construction, and various other entities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES- Perform audits, reviews, compilations, and other attest engagements, working under the direction of an Audit Manager or Partner
- Assist with leading audit engagements, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with professional standards and within the timelines established
- Review and supervise the work of staff auditors, providing guidance and feedback to ensure the accuracy and completeness of audit procedures
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and firm policies
- Analyze financial data for trends and assess the effectiveness of internal controls and financial processes
- Assist in planning audits by identifying key risks and helping set engagement scope and timelines
- Perform more complex audit procedures, including testing of accounts and performing detailed financial analysis
- Maintain client relationships, providing excellent service while working closely with the audit team to address client needs and resolve issues
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting or audit services, with a solid understanding of audit procedures and regulations
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards (US GAAP, IFRS, PCAOB, etc.)
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in attest software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights for clients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, partners, and staff at all levels
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining high standards of quality
- Reliable transportation and ability to work in-office at least 3-5 days a week.
