This full-time, on-site Experienced Bookkeeper role is based in Charlotte, NC. The Experienced Bookkeeper will handle day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers, reconciling bank and credit accounts, and processing accounts payable and receivable. The role involves preparing financial reports, supporting month-end and year-end closing, and ensuring accurate, timely data entry in accounting software. The Experienced Bookkeeper will collaborate with CPAs and other team members, communicate with clients regarding financial records, and help maintain compliance with firm standards and regulatory requirements.
The position also includes assisting with payroll support, organizing documentation for tax preparation, and contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency and client service.
- Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, and familiarity with full-cycle bookkeeping.
- Proficiency with accounting software (such as Quick Books or similar), Excel, and other office productivity tools.
- Ability to prepare and interpret basic financial statements and reports, and support payroll and tax-related documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and collaborating with internal team members.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity, professionalism, and maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
- Experience in a public accounting or CPA firm environment is highly preferred.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant certifications (such as Certified Bookkeeper) are a plus.
- Ability to work in-person in Charlotte, NC and adapt to a collaborative, client-focused workplace.
