A well-established global manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Plant Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys a hands‑on role supporting plant operations, payroll accounting, audit readiness, compliance, and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate brings strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This role offers the chance to contribute across multiple accounting functions while partnering closely with operational and finance leadership.
What You’ll Do- Prepare and reconcile payroll- and fixed asset-related audit schedules
- Process payroll reports and support direct deposits and payroll-related bank transfers
- Generate check requests for payroll deductions and weekly 401(k) transfers
- Prepare, reconcile, and maintain W-2 and 1099 files and related payment records
- Prepare and transmit weekly A/P ACH payments
- Prepare and file multi-state tax returns
- Support annual audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- Research and resolve audit findings and help improve related procedures
- Maintain internal audit programs related to sales and accounts payable
- Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries
- Assist with training team members on accounting systems and processes
- Provide backup support for daily cash reports, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
- Partner with the Accounting Manager on reporting, analysis, and special projects
- Support other accounting and finance functions as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of related accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, payroll laws, and internal controls
- Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, and audit support
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software
- Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and communicate clearly
- High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Manufacturing or plant accounting experience
- Multi-state tax filing experience
- Experience with payroll accounting and fixed assets
- Background supporting audits and process improvements
