Compensation: $120,000
Job Overview – Legal Billing Manager – 34425We are seeking an experienced Billing Manager to oversee our client's day-to-day billing operations and lead a team of billing professionals. This position will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely client invoicing, managing eBilling requirements, resolving billing issues, and partnering with attorneys, clients, and internal teams to support a high level of billing accuracy and service.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily billing activities to ensure accurate and timely client invoicing.
- Supervise, train, develop, and evaluate a team of billing specialists.
- Partner with attorneys, clients, and support staff to resolve billing discrepancies and account issues.
- Work with the Office of General Counsel to ensure compliance with client billing guidelines.
- Manage the firm’s eBilling hub and billing software, including maintaining accurate rates and client‑specific billing instructions.
- Prepare monthly prebills and develop billing reports and audit processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve billing processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Ensure proper expense coding and coordinate with Accounting on appropriate allocation within the firm’s accounting system.
- Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, legal requirements, and applicable billing regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of billing experience in a professional services environment.
- 2+ years of people management or supervisory experience.
- Law firm billing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of legal billing practices, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
- Experience with eBilling systems required.
- Seniority Level: Mid-Senior
