Payroll Specialist

Position Summary

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time while ensuring compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations. This role supports payroll administration, employee records, tax reporting, and payroll-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

+ Process weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly payroll for employees.

+ Maintain and update employee payroll records, deductions, and tax information.

+ Review timekeeping records and resolve payroll discrepancies.

+ Ensure compliance with payroll laws, regulations, and company policies.

+ Process garnishments, benefits deductions, bonuses, and other payroll adjustments.

+ Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits and year-end activities, including W-2 processing.

+ Respond to employee questions regarding pay, taxes, and deductions.

+ Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate employee and payroll data.

Requirements

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

2+ years of payroll processing experience.

Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax withholding, and wage and hour laws.

Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, UKG, Ceridian Dayforce, Workday, or similar.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
