Position: Manager, Payroll          at SPECTRUM        in        Charlotte,        North Carolina

Payroll Specialist

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future. Responsible for developing procedures and managing the preparation, documentation and disbursement of hourly and salary payrolls. Ensure all applicable with holdings are deducted and records are maintained. Oversee payroll system set up for all earnings, deductions and taxes. Oversee set up of pay rules in time entry application.

Ensure all tax filings are completed accurately and timely. Manage posting of payroll data to general ledger and oversee payroll account analysis. Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Ensure compliance with processes required by Sarbanes Oxley Act narratives. Manage the preparation and distribution of the organization's hourly and salaried payrolls. Manage the setup and testing of pay rules in the Time and Attendance system.

Maintain earnings and deduction records tax setups, and tables. Ensure that all federal, state and local taxes, Social Security contributions, contribution to employee benefit programs, and other deductions, are withheld from individual paycheck. Ensure third-part tax preparer promptly and accurately files all taxes; promptly manage inquiries by taxing authorities. Ensure payroll information interfaces with accounting system accurately and timely. Manage preparation and filing of required reports and/or payments to government agencies, other organizations and individual employees.

Direct the preparation of required, informational and audit reports. Manage payroll system changes, including management of vendor issues. Serve as liaison with other departments, units, or locations in the resolution of payroll problems. Recommend and implement changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the payroll function. Perform other duties as required.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience
