Our client is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join a highly visible finance team supporting a dynamic business division. This role offers broad exposure across the full income statement and balance sheet, regular interaction with divisional and enterprise leadership, and the opportunity to influence business decisions through financial analysis and process improvement.
This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys solving complex problems, taking ownership of projects from start to finish, and partnering with leaders across the organization to drive results. The successful candidate will be naturally curious, analytical, and motivated to challenge existing processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and record journal entries as part of the monthly close process.
- Perform account reconciliations across areas such as profit sharing, personnel costs, and entity-level balance sheet accounts.
- Investigate and resolve general ledger discrepancies and accounting variances.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, and balance sheet activity, providing meaningful insights into business performance.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for business leadership.
- Monitor program costs and perform budget-to-actual and year-over-year analyses.
- Support the annual profit-sharing process, including data compilation, analysis, and payment administration.
- Partner with stakeholders across accounting, finance, and business operations to research and resolve issues.
- Present findings, recommendations, and financial insights to leadership teams.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within a multi-entity organization.
- Strong understanding of month-end close, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
- Proven ability to independently manage projects and solve complex accounting issues.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to leadership.
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies is a plus.
- High visibility with both divisional and corporate leadership.
