Senior Accountant

Carolina PRGis partnering with a growing organization in the Charlotte market to hire an experienced Senior Accountant. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong accounting foundation who enjoys being involved in the month end close, financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement.

The Senior Accountant will work closely with the broader accounting and finance team and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, account activity, and supporting schedules
• Research and explain expense and financial statement variances
• Support customer billing and related accounting activities
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Support annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and financial statement information
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, and other departments to research and resolve accounting issues
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting
• Assist with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• 3+ years of professional accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with month end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
