This individual will be responsible for managing key day-to-day accounting activities, supporting an accurate and timely close process, ensuring the integrity of financial information, and helping strengthen accounting processes, controls, and procedures.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who combines strong technical accounting fundamentals with the ability to lead and develop others, improve processes, manage competing priorities, and partner effectively across the organization

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage key aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounting activities.
  • Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and other recurring accounting activities.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies or unusual activity.
  • Support the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and internal financial reporting.
  • Maintain accounting accuracy across a multi-entity and/or multi-location environment, including intercompany activity and related reconciliations.
  • Ensure accounting transactions are recorded appropriately and consistently in accordance with U.S. GAAP and established company policies.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team, providing guidance, feedback, and clear expectations.
  • Partner with accounting leadership to maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the close, automate manual processes, improve reporting, and increase efficiency within the accounting function.
  • Assist with external audit requests, schedules, documentation, and other year-end requirements.
  • Partner cross-functionally with finance and operational teams to research and resolve accounting issues and improve the accuracy of financial information.
  • Support accounting system improvements, implementations, integrations, and other process-enhancement initiatives.
  • Assist accounting leadership with special projects and additional accounting initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
  • Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience overseeing accounting processes and/or team members.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity, multi-location, or similarly complex accounting environment strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience reviewing the work of others and providing coaching or oversight to accounting professionals.
  • Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit schedules and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and create more efficient, scalable accounting procedures.
  • Strong systems aptitude with experience working in ERP and financial reporting environments.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple levels of an organization.
