Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary. Position may be eligible for telework schedule up to one day per week with supervisor approval.
Primary Purpose of Position:
The Collections Maintenance Operations Coordinator supports the work of Resource Sharing & Access Services (RSAS) by ensuring the accessibility, movement, and organization of the library’s physical collections across all locations. This position serves as the primary contact for accessing the library’s physical collections — off‑campus, temporary, or restricted storage spaces — and coordinates secure entry, retrieval workflows, and material transport.
This position performs the hands‑on physical work required to move library materials, organize spaces, support project‑based collection changes, and make them accessible for library users. It supports daily and project‑based collection moves and activities — such as scanning, shifting, right‑sizing, renovations, and emergency relocations — while maintaining orderly, well‑documented shelving and staging areas to keep materials accessible and ready for use.

Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of high school and two (2) years experience in office support, preferably as a library technician in a library, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Primary point of contact for accessing collections in permanent and temporary spaces, whether housed on or off campus, ensuring secure and reliable access.
- Retrieves, transports, scans, and delivers physical collection materials between library spaces, supporting daily workflows as well as project‑based collection activities.
- Performs opening and closing routines for RSAS‑managed offsite facilities, including security system monitoring, environmental checks, and coordination with Building Operations and Security partners on alarms, access, equipment, and scheduled maintenance.
- Communicates and coordinates with external vendors and contractors involved in moving services, shelving, equipment, vehicle maintenance, or facilities projects to ensure safe, orderly, and well‑planned work affecting the physical collection.
- Operates the library van multiple times weekly and coordinates with Building Operations regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Valid Driver’s License Needed for position.
Preferred Experience , Skills, Training/Education
- Experience managing a branch location, offsite facility, warehouse or storage facility.
- Experience managing processes related to security system monitoring, inventory control, and large‑scale materials relocation.
- Experience managing the retrieval, transport, and delivery of materials between locations.
- Knowledge of the Library of Congress classification system is a plus, but not required upon hire.
