We have a full-time position as a Fleet Operations Assistant in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Fleet Operations Assistant manages service calls, inspections, vendor coordination, unit readiness, and fleet tracking while also handling purchase orders, system documentation, and invoice processing. The ideal candidate combines construction/modular experience with strong technical and organizational skills, is comfortable working outdoors, and can operate independently in a growing branch environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Field & Service Operations
  • Conduct service calls for leased warranty units
  • Perform return, on‑rent, and semi‑annual inspections
  • Identify structural or building deficiencies during inspections
  • Oversee subcontractors for unit moves, get‑ready work, refurbishments, and teardowns
  • Coordinate teardown and transportation of returned units
  • Perform minor repairs (paint, battens, small fixes, general touch‑ups)
  • Ensure units meet readiness standards by ship scheduled dates
  • Assist with fleet counts and yard organization
  • Support safety compliance and participate in monthly safety audits
  • Contribute to water intrusion reporting and documentation
  • Offload and coordinate material deliveries
  • Maintain clean, organized, and operational yard conditions
Administrative & Systems Responsibilities
  • Receive and manage inbound service calls
  • Schedule service work and coordinate timelines
  • Issue and manage purchase orders (POs)
  • Track and log work in Fleet Central and Branch systems
  • Process GRPOs and submit invoices to Accounts Payable
  • Complete ONYX documentation and manage damage billing
  • Coordinate billing issues with Customer Accounts
  • Support Sales with NUA inquiries and provide photos/documentation
  • Maintain accurate service records and operational documentation
  • Ensure timely and accurate system data entry
Operational & Strategic Responsibilities
  • Bridge field operations with administrative coordination
  • Support fleet readiness and service response efficiency
  • Formalize vendor coordination processes
  • Improve documentation accuracy and billing compliance
  • Operate independently in a developing branch environment
  • Contribute to the stabilization and growth of branch operations
Qualifications And Skills
  • 1–2 years of experience in a general labor, logistics, fleet, or warehouse environment preferred (but not required).
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physical tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) for tracking and communication.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record; ability to travel locally on occasion.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate safely in a yard environment.
  • Forklift experience or license is an asset; we are willing to train the right person.
  • Reliable, positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and support the broader team.
  • Ability to pass both pre‑employment and random drug & alcohol tests on demand.
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment criminal records check.
