INCLUSION & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ASSISTANT

Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inclusion & Community Engagement Assistant to join our Charlotte, NC team. The Inclusion & Community Engagement Assistant will support our firm's efforts in fostering a culture of belonging, engagement, and community impact. This role plays an important part in coordinating events, supporting employee engagement initiatives, facilitating belonging group activities, and providing administrative support that helps strengthen our inclusive workplace culture.

What You'll Do:

Inclusion & Community Engagement

  • Coordinate logistics and provide administrative support for firmwide inclusion and community engagement events and initiatives including the Public Service Luncheon, inclusion-related conferences, belonging group programming, and other community-focused activities.
  • Draft internal communications, event announcements, and engagement-related messaging while collaborating with Marketing when appropriate.
  • Assist with workplace giving campaigns by coordinating with employee donors and nonprofit partners and tracking participation and contributions.
  • Support the completion, tracking, and submission of inclusion and community-related surveys and reporting.

Belonging Group Coordination

  • Serve as the first point of contact for routine belonging group administrative requests.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, distribute materials, and document action items.
  • Maintain membership rosters, distribution lists, and related records.
  • Track attendance and engagement metrics to support the success of belonging group programs.

General Administrative Support

  • Schedule and organize meetings, including virtual and in-person sessions.
  • Prepare meeting materials, agendas, and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor and respond to routine inquiries within the team email inbox.
  • Process expenses and support general administrative functions.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
    Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience;
    Experience supporting inclusion, community engagement, related programs or HR.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of professionals, including attorneys, business professionals, and external partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • The work is primarily sedentary.
  • It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • The work, at times, requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.

This position requires regular in-person attendance due to the collaborative and interactive nature of the role. Occasional work outside of standard business hours may be needed to support events and key initiatives.
