Work Schedule8:00 am – 5:00 pm;
Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary.
The position assists with day-to-day administrative and operational functions for the Department of Bioinformatics & Genomics.
Key responsibilities include:
- Travel & Procurement: Processing travel requests and reimbursements in Concur for faculty, students, and guest speakers; managing purchasing through 49erMart and P-Cards; and tracking order receiving and delivery.
- HR & Student Support: Setting up assignments and contracts in Niner Works for undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. students, as well as temporary non-student employees. Partnering with the Division of Research to hire postdocs and coordinating visa processing with the International Student and Scholar Office ( ISSO ). Assisting department Chair with course scheduling in Banner,
- Event and building support: coordinating logistics for the Bioinformatics Seminar Series and other departmental events. Serving as building liaison and submit building related orders.
- General Operations:Collaborating across teams within College to support the college’s mission and functions as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Assist the department chair with meeting scheduling and minutes taking.
