We are seeking an experienced Contract Project Manager to lead the relocation of a 65,000 square foot IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) facility into a new 130,000 square foot space. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of the move, including infrastructure, operational workflows, and the safe relocation and commissioning of specialized industrial equipment such as shredders, balers, and material handling systems.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience managing complex facility moves, coordinating multiple vendors and stakeholders, and operating in environments with strict security, safety, and compliance requirements.
This is a contract role.
Responsibilities- Own end‑to‑end project management for the ITAD facility relocation from current site to new facility
- Develop and maintain the master project plan, timeline, budget, and risk register
- Coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders including IT, Operations, Facilities, Security, Compliance, and Leadership
- Manage third‑party vendors and contractors (movers, rigging companies, electricians, equipment vendors, construction teams, etc.)
- Plan and execute the decommissioning, transport, installation, and commissioning of heavy equipment including shredders, balers, conveyors, and related systems
- Ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations and business continuity during the move
- Oversee site readiness at the new facility (power, layout, safety requirements, permitting, inspections)
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and ITAD compliance requirements (e.g., chain of custody, data security)
- Track milestones, dependencies, and issues; provide regular status updates and executive‑level reporting
- Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to keep the project on schedule and within scope
- Lead post‑move validation to confirm operational readiness and successful handoff to internal teams
- 7+ years of project management experience, with a strong focus on facility relocations, industrial moves, or operations‑heavy environments
- Proven experience managing moves involving heavy machinery or specialized equipment
- Strong vendor management and contract oversight experience
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work on‑site and manage hands‑on execution
- Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and operational risk management
- Proficiency with project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana, or similar)
- Experience in ITAD, recycling, manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environments
- Familiarity with data security, chain‑of‑custody, and compliance‑driven operations
- PMP or similar project management certification
- Experience scaling operations into a significantly larger facility footprint
- The facility relocation is completed safely, on time, and within budget
- All equipment is relocated, installed, and operational with minimal downtime
- Business operations transition smoothly into the new 130K SF facility
- Stakeholders are informed, aligned, and confident throughout the project
