Business Development Director – Two Positions (#007736 & #008276)
Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000 per year.
Work Location: Dubois Center, UNC Charlotte.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. Occasional evening and weekend hours and flexibility for offsite training. Eligible for a hybrid schedule after training, per telework policy.
Primary Purpose of PositionThe Business Development Director will drive corporate and executive training program revenue by building strategic relationships and delivering customized learning solutions to new and existing clients.
Responsibilities- Drive revenue growth and expand Corporate Training & Executive Education reach through developing strong corporate partnerships and customized learning solutions.
- Serve as primary point of contact for corporate clients, guiding them through the end-to-end training process from discovery to contract execution.
- Meet financial goals by securing new clients, expanding existing accounts, and ensuring high client satisfaction for repeat business.
- Identify opportunities, solve problems, and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
- Collaborate closely with the Corporate Training and Executive Education team and instructors.
- Ensure proposed solutions are aligned with client needs and delivered effectively across face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
- Stay informed of emerging trends in talent management, leadership development, and learning and development to sustain competitive offerings.
- Maintain strong organizational skills, follow‑up diligence, and commitment to relationship management.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 4 years of relevant business‑to‑business sales experience.
- 3 years in the training, adult, or continuing education field.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4–7+ years of demonstrated success in B2B sales with a proven ability to generate revenue and manage the complete sales cycle.
- 3–5+ years of knowledge in corporate training, adult learning, or continuing education, including needs assessment, program design, market analysis, pricing, budgeting, instructor selection, and program evaluation.
- Familiarity with the Charlotte metropolitan market and regional workforce needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for developing proposals and articulating customized solutions.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Finalists will be subject to a criminal background check and/or a motor vehicle report.
