Business Process Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Functional Business Process Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This is a long-term onsite opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions through process analysis, optimization, and implementation.

• Analyze current business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement
• Design and document optimized business processes using industry-standard methodologies and tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and define process specifications
• Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, and functional specifications to support system implementations and process changes
• Lead process improvement initiatives from conception through implementation and measurement
• Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to elicit requirements and gain consensus on process changes
• Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Conduct impact analysis for proposed process changes and system modifications
• Support system testing activities including test plan creation, test case development, and user acceptance testing coordination
• Monitor and measure process performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics
• Provide training and support to end-users on new or modified processes
• Ensure process designs align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in business process engineering, business analysis, or process improvement
• Strong knowledge of business process modeling techniques and tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart)
• Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to think critically about complex business challenges
• Strong documentation skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with all organizational levels
• Experience facilitating meetings and workshops with diverse stakeholder groups
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
• Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks
• PMP or other project management certification
• Experience in financial services, manufacturing, or technology industries
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience with process automation tools and technologies
